Sukuk issued by Ziraat Participation started to be traded on the Vienna Stock Exchange

2 sukuks with a total value of 150 million dollars, issued by Ziraat Participation in line with its goal of strengthening its presence in international capital markets, started to be traded on the Vienna Stock Exchange (Wiener Börse).

Ziraat Participation strengthened its effectiveness in international capital markets with a new milestone. Sukuk issuances made within the scope of the Medium Term Note (MTN) program with a ceiling amount of 1.5 billion dollars, created by the bank for international investors, continue to meet with investors in global markets.

In this context, 2 sukuk issuances with a maturity of 3 years and a total amount of 150 million dollars, obtained from abroad at affordable costs, were listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange and opened for trading in international markets.

The transaction in question was the first sukuk issuance by a Turkish participation bank on the Vienna Stock Exchange.

A gong ceremony was held at the Vienna Stock Exchange

Ziraat Participation, which currently has a total of 2 billion dollars of sukuk issuance in circulation in international markets, has both increased its external resource diversity and contributed to the Turkish economy with its long-term resource provision with its new transaction.

The "Wiener Börse Gong Ringing Ceremony" organized by the Vienna Stock Exchange on behalf of Ziraat Participation was held with the participation of international investors, financial institutions and capital market representatives.

The organization further strengthened Ziraat Participation's visibility in global financial markets and its credibility in the eyes of international investors.

"It is of historical importance both for us and for the Vienna Stock Exchange"

Ziraat Participation General Manager Mr. Metin Özdemir, in his statement to AA correspondent after the ceremony, stated that they made the first sukuk issuance on the Vienna Stock Exchange and said, "Thus, we have presented an Islamic financial instrument to the investors of the Vienna Stock Exchange. In terms of being a first, it has a historical importance for both us and the stock market." said.

Stating that they aim to grow the Ziraat Participation family in all their activities, Mr. Özdemir continued as follows:

"Since our establishment, our priority has been to grow the participation banking sector in Turkey and to make efforts to increase its awareness. In this sense, we think we have accomplished good things. We intend to carry this flag not only in our own country but also abroad. For the first time, a ceremony for such a sukuk issuance has been held at the Vienna Stock Exchange. Such procedures are usually done in London. We have done such a good job for the first time in Europe."

"We have accomplished a meaningful job abroad"

Mr. Metin Özdemir stated that there is a significant Muslim population living in Europe and that they also need such investments and instruments, and said, "In this sense, the Vienna Stock Exchange's contribution to this sukuk issuance and its partnership with us has been an important service to the development of Islamic banking in Europe. Thus, Ziraat Participation not only contributed to the growth of the participation banking sector in Turkey, but also accomplished a meaningful work abroad."

Stating that this step is a first for them, Mr. Özdemir concluded his words as follows:

"Subsequently, we aim to diversify and grow these businesses. As the Ziraat Participation family, we have accomplished important international works abroad. We started our first overseas branch from the African continent. We have branches in Somalia and Sudan. Of course, we want to develop and grow participation banking in the Gulf, Europe and other geographies, and as the Ziraat Participation family, we want to use the power and reputation given to us by the Ziraat brand in these areas as well. We want to mediate the companies in our country to access more suitable funds. In our future works, as Ziraat Participation, we will continue to contribute to the development and growth of Islamic products in all geographies with the power given to us by our brand."

It is really a great honor for us"

Mr. Christoph Boschan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Vienna Stock Exchange, stated that they were very honored to host Ziraat Participation Bank General Manager Mr. Metin Özdemir and his team and said, "It is a great honor for us that Ziraat Participation Sukuk has started to be traded on the Vienna Stock Exchange. I hope this will build a bridge for the future and many more things." said.

Mr. Boschan said:

"This development will enable many refinancings and will bring with it the natural necessity of opening up to markets, trading in foreign markets, entering other markets, building bridges and creating connections. I hope today will be one of the starting points. I'm really excited about everything to come. We welcome everyone who is interested in the European market, especially the Austrian market.
